Finally - Pictures From Our Trip To Virginia, Last Year!

Well,it only took me what - about three months since the last post to finally get these pictures uploaded...

I can only say that I have been very very busy, and I've finally made time to get this moving again!

Here we are being greeted by Cal and Julie at the airport.

Grandma Julie gave Sophie this wonderful baby doll.

Me trying unsuccessfully to lift Sophie high enough to make a basket.

Grandma Jule made us Mickey Mouse pancakes.

That's all for now...
I have a bunch more pictures that I'm going to post from Easter and the last couple of months. Maybe tonight, definitely soon.
I want to get all caught up before our big trip to Disney World in just under three weeks... When we are there, I hope to do more of a daily blog, like we did in China, so I don't want to be behind when we get there...
Later!

Cristmas 2009 Pictures

Hi everyone!

Sorry that it has been over a month since my last post - it's amazing how quickly time flies...

Here are the best of the best pictures from the various Christmas get-togethers for 2009:

Sophie played in the snow on Christmas Day with her cousins Maddie and Jake.

She fell a few times, but she had a great time!

Working on a super sized snowman...

Sophie with Grandma Orsund.

One of Sophie's favorite gifts this year was a ViewMaster - who woulda thunk it?

Aunt Aunt and Uncle Brian got her a nice art box with her name on it.

Part of Sophie's big gift from us was a bunch of furniture sets for her Dora house.

And here's the Dora house. It's basically a 3 year old version of a normal doll house, with Dora as the theme - and a bunch of furniture and figures (sold separately, of course).

Sophie happily unwrapping another gift in her haul.

Sophie got a large activity book, and both Maddie and Jake played with her on the kitchen floor.

That's about it for now - I recently found the pictures that Stacy's dad and step-mom took when we were out in Virginia in August, so the fabled Part 2 of the Virginia trip pictures will be coming very soon!

More Cute Pictures

Here are some more pictures from day-to-day life of our Sophie-bear...

Sophie just keeps growing up - now she is drinking like a big girl! We still use a sippy-cup in the car and when she is playing, but she is doing very well drinking normally.

Sophie is getting more and more interested in reading, and is using her Bugsby reading toy that she got for her birthday frequently now.

Sophie has also graduated from infant / toddler puzzles to full jigsaws. She's hoping that she gets some more for Christmas!

Here is a pic of Sophie and Stacy snuggling together...

Sophie likes to give Buddy his treats after he goes outside, and this time I asked her to give it to him like she was a doggy. Buddy nicely grabbed the treat from her mouth - it was very cute!

That's all for now, at least until after Christmas - expect a ton of pictures this weekend (or so)!

Merry Christmas, and safe travel!

Larry

Dance Pictures

Here are some pictures that I took on Sunday before and during Sophie's dance recital.

I apologize for the blurriness of some of the dance pictures - the auto-focus was tracking a closer girl to Sophie...

More soon,

Larry

Mismas Cookies 2009

A week and a half ago, my sister Allison (aka "aunt-aunt") came over to make Christmas cookies. This has been a tradition that our grandma Ziegler started a very long time ago, and we wanted to get it started up again this year, now that Sophie is old enough to participate...

We made cookies all day, with about an hour break, and ended up with a huge number of cookies that we will still have for Christmas eve and day tomorrow and Friday.

Sophie had a ton of fun, and helped with everything from rolling peanut butter cookie balls, to putting sprinkles on the iced sugar cookies.

More to come soon!

Dance Recital II - The Videos

Sophie had her second dance recital on Sunday, and despite the room being packed to the gills, I was able to get a good spot to see my darling girl stand mostly still as she was overwhelmed by all of those people watching her.

She did at least look at her teacher most of the time, and Stacy didn't need to be in the room, so Sophie is getting better at this!

I've grabbed the video, and present it here for your pleasure:

Christmas is coming soon - there will be a few big posts coming up, so stay tuned!
